Scenario

A Senior Attorney at an Am Law 100 firm needed a team to review 376,000 documents in a real estate development matter. The client wanted a team of 10-15 document review attorneys to help get documents over to the opposing side.

Challenge

The client had a daunting number of documents to review and were facing rolling production deadlines to the opposing side. The client used linear review but the process was too costly and could not be completed in a timely manner to meet production deadlines.

Solution

Lexitas staffed the project with 1 Project Manager, 2 Team Leads, and 8 Reviewers and worked with one of our hosting company partners to utilize Relativity and TAR to reduce the document population from 376,000 documents to 70,000 documents that were reviewed by our team. Additionally, Lexitas worked with the client to setup rolling productions to the opposing side.

Outcome

Lexitas significantly reduced the number of documents required to be reviewed and staffed the project with a smaller team while still driving the project to completion in a little over a month. In the end, the client saved an estimated 73.57%, or $273,093, compared to using an outside counsel for the review.
