Hon. Thea Sherry
Professional Experience:
Hon. Thea Sherry earned a B.A. from the University of California-Riverside and J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a member of The Missouri Bar, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Women Lawyer’s Association of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis County Bar Association, and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
Judge Sherry retired from the bench in 2019 after serving St. Louis County for 21 years.
Judge Sherry has been an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law for over 10 years and currently teaches evidence and criminal practice and procedure.
She has been an executive council member of the St. Louis County Domestic and Family Violence Council since 2000, and currently serves as chair. Judge Sherry is a member of the Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton.
Judge Sherry was the recipient of the Roger P. Krumm Family Law Award from the Missouri Bar in 2019 and the Women's Justice Award for Public Service from Missouri Lawyers Media in 2018. She has been published several times, including: Judicial Bench Book, Adult Abuse and Child Orders of Protection, and The National Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, with D. Mandelker.
