Ed Clausen graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984 and its School of Law in 1987. He is a shareholder in Newman, Comley & Ruth P.C., a law firm with 10 practicing attorneys in Jefferson City. Ed’s current practice emphasis is defending hospitals and health care professionals in medical legal matters including malpractice claims and licensing issues, family law and business litigation. He has tried cases approximately 60 jury trials for the Plaintiff and defense and hundreds of family law cases over his career. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the Missouri Bar, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, Defense Research Institute and is a former president of the Cole County Bar Association. He serves as a Disciplinary Hearing Officer appointed by the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Missouri and was appointed by the Court to the Advisory Committee in 2016.
